A declaration of cooperation to strengthen personal data protection

The CNIL (National Commission for Information Technology and Civil Liberties) and South Korea's personal data protection authority (PIPC) signed a declaration of cooperation on October 26, 2022, in Istanbul. This declaration will help to meet the challenges of personal data protection in all areas of French and Korean life.

Dr. Haksoo KO, Chairman of the Personal Information Protection Commission (PIPC), and Marie-Laure DENIS, President of the CNIL (National Commission for Information Technology and Civil Liberties) have signed a declaration of cooperation which provides for :

  • conducting joint research into new technologies and data protection issues;
  • sharing best practices and experiences, including in the context of their investigations;
  • organizing training workshops;
  • the exchange of agents between the two authorities.

This agreement opens a new chapter of constructive and productive cooperation between the IPPC and the CNIL (National Commission for Information Technology and Civil Liberties). We look forward to working together on joint research projects, exchanging best practices and sharing experiences.

Marie-Laure DENIS, President of the CNIL (National Commission for Information Technology and Civil Liberties))
