Pap NDiaye, Minister of National Education says that Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace are two solutions that don't meet the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation.
The minister no longer wants free offers of Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace in schools. These two solutions are not compatible with the GDPRor with what is known as "cloud at the center."
The CNIL (National Commission for Information Technology and Civil Liberties) suggests that establishments choose service providers subject to European law. Providers who do not transfer data to the USA, but host it within the European Union.
Institutions, and local authorities in particular, must therefore only choose service providers that are expressly subject to European law.
