A few days after the incident at the Stade de France following the Champions League Final, some even spoke of a diplomatic incident between Paris and London. Even though this is strictly prohibited by the CNIL (National Commission for Information Technology and Civil Liberties) under the General Data Protection Regulation, the issue of facial recognition has once again been raised.
The idea of using biometric data has resurfaced over the past two days. This was, in fact, the position taken by the mayor of Nice, Christian Estrosi, who argued that it would help apprehend “1,000 or 2,000 people” without harming anyone.
